As an enthusiastic artist for as long as I can remember, I have strived to convey the beauty within objects that people tend to find frightening, disconcerting or hideous. I typically explore ways to depict detested creatures, misunderstood people, or even daunting medical procedures and equipment in a more positive light. For example, I find rats to be such gentle and intelligent creatures that people can appreciate more if I highlight their good qualities.
The tendency of others to misunderstand or prejudge is something that most people, including myself, can relate to. I love to produce art that encourages people to appreciate things they otherwise would shun. I have discovered that this focus tends to make my art unique and distinctive. I also enjoy creating my own characters and developing their physical features and personality and perfecting their appearance over time.

Emmarie is without a doubt the most unique student I have ever had the pleasure to tutor. Her creativity bleeds through everything she does, from how she processes chemistry and biology to her constant doodles. She is fiercely authentic, an advocate for the disenfranchised, and a fierce believer in all things common sense. To see her eyes light up with confidence and joy is pure magic. I'm proud to know her.

Emmarie's practice reveals a rare, instinctive grasp of three-dimensional topology. She possesses an extraordinary capacity for spatial synthesis, allowing her to manifest depth and proportion that often elude those with binocular vision. Her ability to articulate negative space and tactile rhythm marks her as a sculptor of significant promise and singular vision.
